Whilst delivering training for a Housing Association in Aberdeen, Christine was asked to talk about Personal Safety to a small network of Learning & Development professionals.
Myra Stewart, Head of Learning & Development at VSA was present. Impressed by Christine’s work she immediately requested some consultancy work to improve and update personal safety and lone working policies.
Christine delivered a half-day focus group to identify issues and risks facing staff and volunteers. Senior VSA staff attended from various departments – Children and Families, Adult Services, Health and Safety, Reception, and the Deputy Chief Executive. The consultancy was well received and the VSA have implemented an improved approach. Several staff members have completed a subsequent CMA Train the Trainer workshop in order to further improve and cascade their learning to even more colleagues.
“The one-day Train the Trainer course Christine ran for us was really well received by all. We are a very diverse organisation with staff attending from a wide variety of services, Christine included everyone and made the material relevant to everyone’s role so each attendee got what they needed out of the session.”
