A retired senior office from the Metropolitan Police moved to a new post in the Abu Dhabi Police, taking on a strategic role for the protection of embassies and oil fields. He needed training for his police officers to improve their problem solving, security surveying and crime prevention skills. Christine was recommended to him by several of his team from the Metropolitan Police. She is always keen to accept new opportunities to share her knowledge, and she designed and delivered three different courses across two years for the team. Working through an interpreter the course impacted strongly and resulted in the development of a skilled team for crime prevention through environmental design; there was an ensuing reduction in opportunities for crime and antisocial behaviour. With a strong bespoke content based on Christine’s many years of experience, and a dynamic and creative style of delivery the delegates remained attentive and committed throughout the courses; they have shown that even many years later they still retained and applied the course knowledge.
“The course was the first of its kind within Abu Dhabi. Christine worked extremely successfully with the use of a local interpreter. She immediately formed a good rapport with the students which continued throughout the duration of the courses. The students since completing their training are now using the skills learnt practically within the local security environment.
Several senior officers commented on the quality of the training provided, so much so that we hope to invite Christine back to run follow up courses”.
